      Yes, white people (caucasian) also have melanin in their skin. It is produced by the melanocytes. However caucasian skin has fewer melanin and hence a lighter shade, however caucasians can become darker if exposed to the sun. The sun activates the melanocytes to produce melanin and this results in a sun tan.
